Why do we need to separate different components of a mixture? Give two examples.

Explanation

Solution

We separate different components of a mixture if and only if we do not have any use with it or if it is harmful to us. So, it is the reason why we separate them out of the mixture and we have many daily life examples.

Complete step by step answer:
In our daily life we see in our home itself we use to separate things out of the mixture because either it is used less or it is harmful to us. We may sometimes keep the things in the mixture even though they are useless but we always try to remove the components which are harmful to us. In our daily life our mother picks out the rocks in the wheat, rice or pulse.
If those components aren’t picked out of the mixture then there may be a great harm to our body. Another example in our daily life is, after we prepare tea using tea leaves or using tea powder, we filter the tea using a strainer or a filter and remove the leaves or the powder out of it. Since we filled the essence of the tea powder or the tea leaves into the liquid by boiling it we don’t have any use or any benefit from it. So, we always remove it.
Example 1:The oil which is taken from the earth has many impurities of course the diesel and petrol are mixed for our use. We separate all those impurities and sell them as refined products.
Example 2:Living animals and humans are best examples. We have many gases in nature as a mixture but our respiratory system knows which is useful gas oxygen for being alive.

Note:
When it comes to chemistry the perfect examples are always the daily life situations, we can see our surroundings and can give examples easily. The separation is also done in industries for purification and to draw out the pure form of elements from its ores.
