Charles Darwin wrote the book in which he explains about the origin of species. The book origin of
species was published in 1859. This theory explains about continual evolution of species. Darwin gave
the theory of natural selection and also explained about preservation of favored races in the struggle for life. In the 1830s he started observing the natural phenomena for evolution in species in the south American coast, the Galapagos islands, and other regions on the British ship H.M.S. Beagle. Alfred Russell Wallace helped MDarwin to publish its book in 1859. Darwin observed many living organisms and fossils. He concluded that species change through natural selection. Species selected by nature or the species which adapt themselves in the surrounding environment can survive.
The organisms change over time as a result of changes in heritable physical or behavioral traits. This is
known as natural selection. Organisms adapt features that help them to survive and have more
offspring. It is the most substantiated theory in the history of science. Natural selection can also create
entirely new species which is known as macroevolution. For ex:- dinosaurs turn into birds and
amphibious mammals and ancestors of apes into humans.
