He was born on 17 September 1677 in Bekesbourne, Kent, England. Hales started his education in Kensington and then attended Corpus Christi College, Cammbridge. Information of his experiments based on plant physiology and chemistry is mentioned in the first volume of the book named Vegetable Staticks in 1727.
