Which part of human brain is more develop in comparison of others?
A. Cerebrum
B. Cerebellum
C. Optic lobes
D. Medulla oblongata

Explanation

Solution

Cerebrum is the largest and the most prominent complex part of forebrain. The cerebrum is divided into two cerebral hemispheres (left and right) by a median longitudinal fissure

Step by step answer: The human brain is well protected in the bony box called cranium of the skull. It is soft, whitish, large-sized, and slightly flattened. It can be divided into different parts as forebrain (prosencephalon), midbrain (mesencephalon), and hindbrain (rhombencephalon).
The forebrain consists of three regions; namely olfactory lobes (rhinencephalon), cerebrum (telencephalon), and diencephalon (thalamencephalon). The cerebrum is the largest and most prominent complex part of the forebrain. It makes 80 – 85% of the weight of the brain.
The cerebrum is divided into two cerebral hemispheres by a median longitudinal fissure. Both cerebral hemispheres are interconnected by a thick band of nerve fibres called corpus callosum. The Corpus callosum is the largest commissure in the human brain. A cavity filled with CSF is present in each hemisphere which is termed as the lateral ventricle. The roof of the lateral ventricle is pallium.
Each cerebral hemispheres is divided into four lobes that is the frontal lobe, parietal lobe, occipital lobe, and temporal lobe. The association area related with intelligence, memory, judgment, problem-solving ability is found on the frontal lobe. Broca’s area is the motor speech area and translates thoughts into speech and controls movement of the tongue, lips, and vocal cords. The general sensory area concerned with the sensation of temperature, touch, pressure, and pain, speech is located on the postcentral gyrus of the parietal lobe. The sensory speech area is called Wernicke’s area. The area concerned with the sense of taste, sense of hearing, and sense of smell are located on the temporal lobe.
Hence, option A is correct

Note: The brain is about 1300-1400 gms in weight and 1300-1500 c.c. in volume. It contains about 30,000 million neurons. The cerebrum present in the forebrain is divided into two cerebral hemispheres by a median longitudinal fissure and cerebral hemispheres are interconnected by a thick band of nerve fibres called corpus callosum. There is a slight difference in size of the two hemispheres, the right hemisphere is larger than the left hemisphere.
