Question
Biology Question on cell cycle and cell division
Which one of the following precedes reformation of nuclear envelope during M-phase of cell cycle ?
Decondensation of chromosomes and reassembly of nuclear lamina
Transcription from chromosomes and reassembly of nuclear lamina
Formation of the contractile ring and formation of phragmoplast
Formation of the contractile ring and transcription from chromosomes
Decondensation of chromosomes and reassembly of nuclear lamina
Solution
M phase is known as mitotic phase and cell division occurs in this phase. The re-formation of the nuclear envelope during M-phase of the cell cycle takes place during telophase. The nuclear membrane which disappears during propahse reappears in the telophase. But before it is reformed the nucleus gets reorganised by decondensation from chromosome and reassembly of the nuclear lamina.
