Greenhouse gases are called so because they absorb heat . They are those which are emitted from fossil fuels , petroleum , transportation , electricity and many other commercial and agricultural sources .

Greenhouse effect is a phenomena by which the radiation of a planet, say earth, warms it's surface.It is an important phenomena so as to keep the earth's surface warm otherwise it could reach upto an average temperature of $- {15^ \circ }C$ . This phenomena is possible with the help of certain gases known as greenhouse gases.
