Question
Question: What would happen if there is no Gravity?...
What would happen if there is no Gravity?
Solution
The consequence of there being no gravity can be thought of in different aspects. This can be understood if we put g = 0 in several of the equations in physics. Hence analyzing the various equations for g=0 will fetch us the required explanation.
Complete answer:
Gravity holds everything together. If suddenly the gravity becomes zero, all the objects in the gravitational field of the planet will be lost in space. We would feel weightlessness. Fundamentally if gravity is equal to zero it means that acceleration due to gravity is zero. It basically means that the mass of the Earth is zero according to the universal law of gravitation. But still if the Earth has finite mass then we can say that the law of gravitation is invalid. This implies fundamentally that the argument itself is invalid until the mass of the Earth is zero. Likewise there are many possibilities as if we plug in g=0 in various formulas governed by physics.
The other most unexpected possibility that gravity is nil might be that the gravitational constant is zero. But if that’s the case then the concept of gravity itself is violated.
Note: We have discussed the case above when g=o. But what if ‘g’ is finite but less than the actual value that on Earth. All the phenomena that can be explained or are related to acceleration due to gravity will get hampered. It is also to be noted that the value of g is zero at the center of the Earth but this is due to the fact that the lower half compensates for the upper half.
