What relationship exists between concentration of solution and its density? How would you explain such a relationship?

A homogenous mixture of two or more components is known as solution and according to the number of components present in the mixture, the solution is mainly divided into two and that is, binary mixture and tertiary mixture. If the homogenous mixture contains only two components, which is known as binary mixture and if the homogenous mixture contains more than two components, that mixture is known as ternary mixture. The concentration of solution is related to the density.

As we know that the concentration of the solution is directly related with the density. That is, the density is directly proportional to the concentration of the solution. Hence, when the concentration of solution increases, the density of the solution is also increasing.
When the concentration of the solution is increasing, there is an increasing quantity of solute molecules which dissolve in the solvent. Therefore, we can say that the solution will attain more mass per unit volume. And we know that, the mass is directly proportional to the density. Hence, the density increases with increase in mass.
