The Solar eclipse is the case when the moon is orbiting the Earth and it is in between the Earth and the sun at this time the moon blocks the path of the Earth and the Sun. In this way the moon blocks the light that is emitted from the sun reaching the Earth. This results in the eclipse of the sun and is called the solar eclipse.
The case when the earth is between the moon and the sun is called the lunar eclipse. In this case the Earth blocks the light that falls on the moon in such a way that the Earth is cast as shadow on the moon. This is called the eclipse of the Moon or the lunar eclipse.
