In 1859, Charles Darwin got his book, On the Origin of Species published. This book had the famous theory of evolution describing his views on evolution. Evolution is a natural process that involves modifications, alterations in structural and functional features of any species such that it helps them in meeting the demands of the environment. This process is favourable to the organism as it makes their survival easier and reduces environmental pressure of the species. This concept was coined for the first time by Jean-Baptiste Lamarck in his theory, Transmutation of Species.
The evolution theory of Darwin says that Charles Darwin's theory of evolution states that it is a natural process that is regulated by natural selection. It involves alteration of phenotypical and genotypical traits in an organism that leads to emergence of its better version. However, such a change is positive for only those who strive hard to accept the change and manage to survive and reproduce. The theory describes that humans have evolved from monkeys. In such a scenario, we can easily observe that unlike monkeys we have straight vertebrae and lack tails. This is a result of evolution that describes that probably we didn't need a tail anymore as the straight vertebral bone has imparted enough power that can easily substitute for the functioning of the tail.
