What is the most sensitive organ in our body?

Explanation

Solution

Human body is an organ system level of organization. Our body has numerous organs like heart lungs, stomach, gall bladder etc. There are five sense organs like skin, eye, ear, nose and tongue which sense the external stimuli.

Complete Answer:
The sense organs are the organs which sense the external stimuli and send the information for further processing in the brain. The tongue is sensitive to taste. Nose is an olfactory organ which senses smell. The skin is the most sensitive organ in our body which responds to touch, temperature etc.
Skin is the largest organ of our body. It acquires an area of around 20 square feet in our body. It is the most vital organ in our body. It consists of a large fleshy surface with nails, hairs, glands and nerves. The skin also contains the hair follicles through which the hair anchors.
The texture of the skin is different at different areas. For example skin at the heels and palms are thicker as compared to others. The function of skin is that it acts as a barrier which protects the inside environment from outside. The skin contains receptors for touch, pain, temperature etc.

Thus we can say that skin is the most sensitive organ of our body.

Note:
The sensitivity of the organ depends on the presence or absence of nerves in the particular area. The regions where the nerves are less are not sensitive as compared to the nerve concentrated regions. Heels are the least sensitive area in our body where there are least nerves present.
