Solution

Hint : Synthetic polymers are the artificial man-made polymers formed by the polymerisation of the same or different monomers. It is made from various petroleum oils. Synthetic polymers are widely used in many day to day applications of our life.

Complete Step By Step Answer:
Examples of some synthetic polymers are – Rayon, Nylon, Acrylic, Polyester, bakelite, Teflon and so on.Now let’s see each of their utilities one by one.
Nylon-
Nylon is highly prevalent in clothing industries like in the manufacture of vests, shirts , foundation garments , lingerie , and also the under garments . It is also used in the making of raincoats. It is also used in industries like in manufacture of airbags and parachutes, also in conveyer and seat belts.

Rayon-
Rayon is one of the most important synthetic polymers as it has found its usage in the medical department for the manufacture of bandages and surgical dressings. It is also used in the textile industry for making sarees and carpets. Rayon has also found its use in the tyre production industry.

Polyethylene-
Polyethylene is used in making plastic bags, garbage bags. Also used in the production of insulating material for cables.

Note :
Teflon is a special polyester. It is used for coating non-stick utensils. It has found it’s used widely in cooking wares because of its smooth nature i.e. it provides smooth, non-sticky nature to the food. But recent studies have found that low quality of bakelite is dangerous for health and hence is unfit for cooking.
