Reproductively healthy society includes people having physically and functionally healthy reproductive organs. They have normal behavioural and emotional interaction in sex-related matters. Sexually transmitted diseases in such societies are kept away and if they are present then they are treated in a proper manner by decreasing their chances of transmission.
India was the first country in the world to initiate a ‘Family Planning’ programme in 1951. These days several other programmes like Reproductive and Child Health Care (RCH) programmes have been developed which are dedicated to the maintenance of reproductive health of the society.
To develop a reproductively healthy society different measure are taken like:
Educating people about the importance of a small family and the available methods by which they can achieve a small family by the use of birth control methods.
Educating people about the Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), importance of safe sex, reproductive hygiene.
