Question

Question: What blood type is Golden blood?...

What blood type is Golden blood?

Explanation

Solution

Blood is something that is very common among human beings. It contains proteins called antigens that help us to know which type of blood is present in our body. ABO blood type system is present in humans.

Complete answer:
Blood is regarded as a connective tissue because it has inter-cellular material between its cells. Moreover, certain cells, the leukocytes of the blood, keep passing back and forth between the connective tissue proper and the blood through the walls of the capillaries.
It consists of watery fluid called plasma containing certain floating bodies termed formed elements. The latter include blood cells and blood platelets. The blood corpuscles are of two types- red corpuscles and white corpuscles. The plasma and the formed element form about 55% and 45% of the volume of the blood respectively.
Blood is divided into types too on the basis of the presence of an antigen that is a protein. An antigen is a substance that can make the body's immune system react. There is a system called the ABO system for defining blood type. The ABO blood group is controlled by gene I. The plasma membrane of the red blood cells has sugar polymers that protrude from the surface and the kind of the sugar is controlled by the gene.
In addition to it, blood types are usually either positive or negative depending upon the presence and absence of Rh factor's D antigen, protein. If it is present, then it is said to be Rh positive and if it is absent then it is termed as Rh negative.
There are four types of blood groups-
1. Type a: Antigen A is present
2. Type b: Antigen B is present
3. Type ab: Bothe A and B antigen is present
C. Type o: Neither A nor B antigen is present
Outside the ABO system, there are hundreds of antigens that may be attached to red blood cells. Some of these antigens are so rare that they are found in very few people. One of the world's rarest blood types is Rh- null. It is called the "golden blood". This blood type is distinct from the Rh negative since it has none of the Rh antigen at all. There are less than 50 people who have this blood type.

Note:
Type O positive blood groups are called the universal or golden blood donors and type O negative is called the universal gainer. It can be taken up by all the people with any blood group. In the US, the blood Rh negative is considered as the rarest, while O positive is the most common.
