Question
Question: What are the phagocytic cells from the given diagram? .
Additional information:
In the body of humans, phagocytic cells are those types of cells which provide protection to the human's body by ingesting or engulfing various harmful pathogens such as viruses, bacteria, and other infected/ dying cells. Phagocytic cells are essential for fighting against infections and subsequent immunity. In one litre of human blood, there are about six billion phagocytes present. These cells were first discovered in 1882 by Ilya Ilyich Mechnikov.
Note: Phagocytic cells are those cells that are involved in phagocytosis. These cells ingest various harmful foreign particles and pathogens in their lytic enzymes. Monocyte, neutrophils of the WBC are two examples of phagocytic cells. Here in the figure, I represent monocytes, and figure V represents neutrophils both of which are the phagocytic cells of the body.
