They are referred to as limbic systems because they regulate memory and location.
Wernicke's area is one of the regions of the brain that plays a major role in the development of language. It is located in the temporal lobe on the left side of the brain. It is majorly responsible for the comprehension of speech. When we talk about its location, it is located in the left cerebral hemisphere near a large groove known as the lateral sulcus. It is usually thought to be located in the back part of the temporal lobe, although the exact location can vary. It is majorly found in the left hemisphere of the brain but not always. Temporal planum is an anatomical component that is located on the superior temporal gyrus and Brodmann area 22. It is a strategic location given to the Wernicke's area that lies between the primary auditory complex.
Brocka's area is one of the parts of the brain that is related to the production of speech. Language development or usage can be seriously impared by damage to Wernicke's area of the brain. It is mainly the region in the frontal lobe of the dominant hemisphere usually left side of the brain. It is generally defined as comprising Brodmann area 44 and 45, which lies anterior to the premotor cortex. Both the areas have different functions so it can be said that Broca's area has two functional units. Area 44 seems to be involved in language production and this role would be facilitated by position closest to motor centres for the mouth and the tongue whereas Area 45 seems to be involved in the semantic aspects of language. Not involved in accessory language, so this region of Broca's are therefore play a role in verbal memory. In women, Broca's areas is about 20% larger than in males.

When Wernicke's area of the brain is damaged, it causes a disorder named as Wernicke's aphasia in which the person is not able to speak in phrases that sound fluent yet lack meaning. Similarly, the one deficit in language production attains the problem called aas Broca's aphasia which is also called as expressive aphasia.
