Hint:- Water is one of the renewable resources that are available on earth. Earth contains about 71-73% of water and the remaining is land. About 76% of water makes the ocean. And only about 2- 3% of water is freshwater.

Complete step-by-step solution:- Water is a very essential part of all living organisms. In plants, water is needed for the transport of minerals, nutrients from root to all parts of the plant. They are one of the important components of photosynthesis without which the plant cannot survive. In the case of animal’s water is needed to carry the nutrients to the cells of the body.
Water is essential to remove the waste products out of the body thus acts as a detoxifying material. It is also important for the development of a country. Important in industries, medicines, transportation, agriculture, etc.
The main source of water includes rivers, ponds, sea, glaciers, underground. The sea becomes the source of saltwater. Glaciers melt during summer and become a source of water. River, pond, underground water are also sources of freshwater.
Due to high pollution, the amount of available freshwater is also depleting. The sources of water pollution include:

The effect of pollution:
Due to the increase in water pollution, the water becomes non-potable. The extra fertilizer or pesticides from agriculture may lead to the algal bloom where algae cover the entire pond and eventually kill the aquatic plants and animals. The pesticide may enter the food chain and lead to bioaccumulation which destroys the entire food chain.
Suggestions to save water resources:

Water should be used efficiently. Vehicles must be wiped with wet cloth instead of pouring buckets of water.
We should carefully close the water taps and repair them if there is any leakage to decrease the wastage of water.
Should not pollute the water resource. The water resource must be kept clean.

Note:- One of the best ways to conserve water is by preventing its pollution. The source of water is decreasing because of rapid industrialization.
Forests help to increase underground water. Due to the depletion of forests, groundwater is also decreasing. Thus forests must be conserved.
