Question
Physics Question on Moving charges and magnetism
Two wires A and B are of lengths 40cm and 30cm . A is bent into a circle of radius r and B into an arc of radius r. A current i1 is passed through A and I2 through B. To have the same magnetic inductions at the centre, the ratio of I1:I2 is
A
3:4
B
3:5
C
2:3
D
4:3
Answer
3:4
Explanation
Solution
For wire A Length =40cm
It is bent into a circle, so
∴2πr=40
r=2π40
Magnetic induction at centre =2rμ0i1
For wire B Length =30cm It is bent into an arc, so
∴θr=30
Magnetic induction at centre due to circular arc
=4πrμ0i2θ
Since, 2rμ0i1=4πrμ0i1θ
⇒i2i1=2πθ=2π×4030×2π
⇒i2i1=43
