Question
Biology Question on Human Excretory System
The reabsorption of water in the kidney is under the control of
A
LH
B
ADH
C
STH
D
ACTH.
Answer
ADH
Explanation
Solution
Water reabsorption in kidneys is controlled by ADH or antidiuretic hormone or vasopressin. It is released in response to a fall in the water content of blood plasma and leads to an increase in the permeability to water of the distal convoluted tubule, collecting tubule and collecting duct in the kidney. As a result of which the reabsorption of water from the glomerular filtrate is increased.
