The quadrilateral formed by the vertices (–1, 1), (0, –3), (5,2) and (4, 6) will be-

A

Square

B

Parallelogram

C

Rectangle

D

Rhombus

Answer

Parallelogram

Explanation

Solution

Let A(–1, 1), B(0, –3), C(5, 2) and D(4, 6)

Ž AB = 17\sqrt{17}, CD = 17\sqrt{17}, BC = 50\sqrt{50}

AD = 50\sqrt{50}, AC = 37\sqrt{37} and BD = 97\sqrt{97}

Obviously AB = CD and BC = AD

Also diagonal AC ¹ BD

Therefore quadrilateral is parallelogram.
