Physics Question on Units and measurement

The photograph of a house occupies an area of 1.75 cm2\text{cm}^2 on a 35 mm slide. The slide is projected on to a screen, and the area of the house on the screen is 1.55 m2\text m^2. What is the linear magnification of the projector-screen arrangement.

Answer

Area of the house on the slide = 1.75 cm2\text{cm}^2
Area of the image of the house formed on the screen = 1.55 m2\text m^2
= 1.55 × 10410^4 cm2\text{cm}^2
Arial magnification, ma = Area of image  Area of object \frac{\text{ Area of image }}{\text{ Area of object }}= 1.551.75×104\frac{1.55}{1.75} \times 10^4
\therefore Linear magnifications, ml =ma\sqrt{m_a}
=1.551.75×104 \sqrt{ \frac{1.55 }{ 1.75 }× 10^4} = 94.11
