The flow of charge in time t is called Current.
From the definition of current,
i=tQ⋯(i)
The charge comprises of electrons so, Q=n×e
where, n is the total number of electrons each having charge e.
In equation (i), i=tne
∴n=ei×t⋯(ii)
We know that, the relation between speed, distance and time is
s=td(where, s = speed, d = distance and t = time)
The speed of electrons in the electron beam during the distance travelled lin evacuated space of tube is
v=tl ∴t=vl
