There are three types of hydrocarbons which are as follows,

Aromatic hydrocarbons: The hydrocarbons containing one or more aromatic rings are known as aromatic hydrocarbons. They are also known as arenes.
Along with the benefits, there are many ill effects of hydrocarbons too. One such example is that aromatic compounds like benzene and certain rare polycyclic aromatic compounds are carcinogenic which means they can cause cancer.
