Question
Physics Question on Wave optics
The clouds in sky generally appear to be whitish. Diffraction due to clouds is efficient in equal measure at all wavelengths.
If both assertion and reason are true and reason is the correct explanation of assertion
If both assertion and reason are true but reason is not the correct explanation of assertion
If assertion is true but reason is false
If both assertion and reason are false
If assertion is true but reason is false
Solution
A cloud is a large collection of very tiny droplets of water or ice crystals. The droplets are so small and light that they can float in air. Clouds appear white because they reflect the light of the sun. Light is made up of colours of rainbow and when they are added up together, white colour is obtained clouds reflect all the colours by exactly the same amount so they generally look white.
