Hint:- There are several methods of contraception. Sterilization is the best method of contraception. There are several other methods but there is a chance of failure associated with it. There are several side effects caused by following the other methods.
Complete solution:
Sterilization procedure prevents sperm from meeting with the egg. The method of sterilization differs from male to female. Sterilization in males is known as vasectomy whereas in females, it is tubectomy.
The sterilization of females is also referred to as tubal ligation. It involves the closing of the fallopian tubes and therefore prevents the egg from moving down the fallopian tube and meeting with the sperm.
Vasectomy involves the tying, cutting, clipping or sealing of the vas deferens of a male to prevent the release of sperm. Vasectomy is more effective when compared to female sterilization.
Sterilization procedures do not offer protection against sexually transmitted diseases. A male or female condom must be used in order to prevent the transmission of such diseases.
Sterilization is usually done to prevent conception. This method does not influence the sex urge. All family planning procedures nowadays are based on this method. It is widely accepted in our country.
So, the correct answer is Option A. It is almost irreversible and It is a surgical procedure.
Note:- The main aim of using contraceptive methods, whether it is natural, artificial or surgical methods is only to prevent zygote formation & embryo development. Hormonal contraceptives and intrauterine devices are very effective but these methods do not provide protection against sexually transmitted devices.
