As per maxwell, light waves have changing E (Electric) and B(magnetic)
fields.
Changing electric field comes with varying space and time components of the magnetic field.
Changing magnetic field comes with varying space and electric components of the electric field.
The change E and B with a fixed wave vector u can also travel in vacuum without the need for medium.
The four characteristics of electromagnetic wave :
(i) E.M. waves travel at almost the speed of light in different medians.
(ii) E.M. waves have mutually varying electric and magnetic fields both parabasis to each other.
(iii) E.M. waves have fixed amplitude and frequency and a fixed wave vector k
