ovarian follicles
B
Serniniferous tubule
C
uriniferous tubules
D
small intestine
Answer
Serniniferous tubule
Explanation
Solution
Sertoli cells are present in seminiferous tubules of the male gonads, thetestes. They were first observed in 1865 by a young Italian physician Enrico Sertoli. Sertoli cells comprise one of the two types of cells in the germinal epithelium, the other being of spermatogonia lineage.
FSH stimulates both the production of androgen-binding protein(ABP) by Sertoli cells and is important for initiation of spermatogenesis.
These cells provide nutrition to developing sperm cells and are regulated by FSH.
