Aniline undergoes exhaustive bromination with Br₂/H₂O to form 2,4,6-tribromoaniline (Product A). Product A, being a primary aromatic amine, then undergoes diazotization with NaNO₂/HCl to form 2,4,6-tribromobenzenediazonium chloride. This diazonium salt is subsequently reduced by H₃PO₂ (hypophosphorous acid), which replaces the diazonium group with a hydrogen atom, yielding 1,3,5-tribromobenzene (Product B).
