We know the formula that aCb=b!(a−b)!a!
As we know that a! = (a-3)!(a-2)(a-1)a
With the help of this concept we just have to solve LHS and get the value of RHS.
So, we do
If we see carefully then we can recognize that r!(n+1−r)!(n+1)! is nothing but n+1Cr.
If we expand n+1Cr then we will be getting r!(n+1−r)!(n+1)!. ……………………….(2)
So, from (1)and (2) it is proved that nCr−1+nCr=n+1Cr.
