On the bases of lamina, leaves are of two types named as simple leaf and compound leaf. In simple leaves have a single undivided lamina and the lobes of the leaf may be arranged entirely pinnate eg;- brassica or palmately :- Ricinus.
In case of compound leaf, the leaf lamina or leaf blade is completely divided into many segments or units called pinnae and such pinnae attached to the rachis. It is further divided into pinnate compound leaves and palmately compound leaves.
