Obtain the volume of rectangular boxes with the following length, breadth and height, respectively.
(i) 5a, 3a2, 7a4
(ii) 2p, 4q, 8r
(iii) xy, 2x2y, 2xy2
(iv) a, 2b, 3c

Answer

Volume of rectangle = length x breadth x height. To evaluate volume of rectangular boxes, multiply all the monomials.
**(i) **5a×3a2×7a45a \times 3a^2 \times 7a^4
=(5×3×7)(a×a2×a4)= (5 \times 3 × 7) (a × a^2 × a^4 )
=105a7= 105a^7


**(ii) **2p×4q×8r2p \times 4q \times 8r
=(2×4×8)(p×q×r)= (2 × 4 × 8 ) (p × q × r )
=64pqr= 64pqr


(iii) y×2x2y×2xy2y \times 2x^2y × 2xy^2
=(1×2×2)(x×x2×x×y×y×y2)=(1 × 2 × 2 )( x × x^2 × x × y × y × y^2 )
=4x4y4= 4x^4y^4


(iv) a×2b×3ca \times 2b \times 3c
=(1×2×3)(a×b×c)= (1 × 2 × 3 ) (a × b × c)
=6abc= 6abc
