Name the target organ for the following disease:
Hepatitis targets________.

Explanation

Solution

Hepatitis is the disease which is caused by the virus. This disease is also affected by the use of heavy alcohol, toxins, some medications and few medical treatments. Common types of hepatitis are hepatitis A, hepatitis B and hepatitis C. Hepatitis B is the dangerous one compared to other types. But it is prevented easily. Direct contact and infected food causes the disease. But this disease is prevented by vaccines. This disease mainly attacks the liver cells.

Complete explanation:
Hepatitis is a viral disease that targets the liver of the human. This disease occurs due to the inflammation of the liver. It locks or stops the overall liver function. Alcoholic hepatitis is caused by heavy alcohol use. Toxic hepatitis is caused by chemicals, medicines and poisons. Autoimmune hepatitis is the chronic type where the immune system of the body attacks the liver. Hepatitis A is caused by food and water. Hepatitis B and C is caused by the blood of an infected person. Hepatitis B is also caused by the contact with body fluids of the affected person. It may be caused by drug needles and unprotected sex.
Liver is an important organ in the human body. It produces nutrients, filters the blood and fights with infection. Cirrhosis is the disease caused by the autoimmune hepatitis. It causes liver cancer or hepato cellular carcinoma. First, this disease produces fibrosis. It is the starting condition of liver damage. In liver fat cells are present. This stores the fat and vitamins in the liver. If the hepatitis will affect the body then the fat cells function will be altered by the virus. Infected liver produces the cytokines. So it activates the white blood cells at the outside of the liver. After that it is teamed with kupffer cells. So it produces some chemical energy and it may induce collagen fibers. These collagen fibers are sent into the scar tissue. It will reduce the inflammation. In this disease the collagen is not properly dissolved so the damage of cells occurs in the liver.

Therefore we can say that Hepatitis targets the liver.

Note:
Chronic hepatitis may cause liver failure and liver cancer. Early diagnosis may reduce the complications. Autoimmune hepatitis cannot be cured, other hepatitis is cured by the vaccination. Chronic liver inflammation may cause overproduction of free radicals. Free radicals are called chemical substances. It alters the fat in the human body exactly at the fat cells in the liver. These free radicals destroy the cells and attack the cell membrane.
