-Winnowing is a method which is used for separation of heavier components to the lighter components in a mixture using the help of wind. The method of winnowing is applied after threshing and it is used mainly for separating grains and other lighter material.
-The Major advantage of winnowing is that it does not require any mechanical instruments or hard tools for its functioning or processing. It just makes use of human labor and is definitely very cheap to use. It consumes very less time. In Winnowing heaps of grains or any other food material is vertically fallen on a windy day.
