Female reproductive system is made up of external and internal sex organs that helps in reproduction of new offspring. The human female reproductive system is immature at the time of birth and gets mature at the age of puberty for the formation of gametes. External organs are Vagina, Mons Pubis, Labia Majora, Labia Minora, Clitoris, urethra, opening of Bartholin gland, whereas internal organs consist of Ovaries, fallopian tube, uterus, uterine cavity.

External organs are:
-Vagina: It is a muscular tube from external genitals to the uterine cavity in a female.
-Vulva: The muscular outer folds of skin consist of labia majora and labia minora.
-Mons Pubis: The mass of the fatty tissue lying over the pubic bones of pelvic joints.
-Labia Majora: The larger outer fold of the vulva.
-Labia Minora: The Small inner fold of the vulva.
-Clitoris: An erogenous organ capable of erection.
-Urethra: It is a thin fibrous muscular tube that helps in removal of urine from the body.
-Bartholin gland: These are pea sized alveolar glands located in the right and left side of the vagina.
Internal organs are:
-Uterus: It is a hollow muscular organ located in the female pelvic region.
-Uterine Cavity: Cavity present between the two fallopian tubes where the baby resides for nine months.
-Fallopian tubes: These are two in numbers and are muscular tubes located on both sides of the uterus and are attached to the ovaries.
-Ovaries: These are the females primary sex organs responsible for the production of female gamete ovum.

Note: Female reproductive system also consist of accessory sex organs which includes mammary glands which helps in lactation after the childbirth. The major role is played by Primary sex organs which includes Ovaries, Fallopian Tubes, Uterine Cavity and Secondary sex organs which includes external sex organs.
