Question
Question: Name the part where the sperms are produced in the testes....
Name the part where the sperms are produced in the testes.
Solution
Hint:- Sperms are the male gametes produced by the process of spermatogenesis. Testes are the male reproductive parts which have coiled structures called seminiferous tubules. Sperms are produced in seminiferous tubules. Sperms mature in epididymis. Penis is the male part by which sperms eject out.
Complete step-by-step solution:- The male reproductive organs include the testes, epididymis, urethra, vas deferens, prostate gland, seminal vesicle, and penis. Testes are the male organs about the size of very large olives that lie in the scrotum secured by spermatic cord. There are mainly two testes present in male. Testes produce testosterone, which is the primary male sex hormone.
Testes have coiled masses of tubes called seminiferous tubules. These tubules are responsible for the development of sperm cells through a process called spermatogenesis. It starts with the mitotic division of stem cells located to the base of tubules. These cells are called spermatogonial stem cells. Haploid spermatozoa are produced by this process.
Epididymis receives immature sperms from the testis and stores it for several days. Sperms are forcefully expelled from the tail of epididymis into the deferent duct when ejaculation occurs. Vas deferens joins with the seminal vesicle to form the ejaculatory duct. Male reproductive organs are on both the interior and exterior of the pelvic cavity.
Note:-
A man can produce millions of sperm cells every day after puberty. A sperm cell measures about 0.002 inches (0.05 mm) long. A sperm cell has head and tail mobility to the sperm. It takes 2.5 months to form a mature sperm cell from a germ cell which is capable of fertilization. Sperms which are thicker are more fertile sperms. Fertility of sperms remains throughout the man’s life.
