Question
Chemistry Question on Some basic concepts of chemistry
Molarity of a solution does not depend upon temperature whereas molality depends. Molarity and molality both depend only on the number of moles of solute particles
If both assertion and reason are true and reason is the correct explanation of assertion
If both assertion and reason are true but reason is not the correct explanation of assertion
If assertion is true but reason is false.
If both assertion and reason are false
If both assertion and reason are false
Solution
Molarity is a function of volume which is a function of temperature as volume changes with temperature. But molality depends on the mass of solute and solvent which are independent of temperature. Molarity is number of moles per liter volume of the solution and molality is number of moles of solute particles dissolved in per kg mass of solvent. Both Assertion and Reason are incorrect
