Question
Logical Reasoning Question on Statements and Conclusions
In this question, two statements are given followed by two conclusions I and II. You have to consider both the statements to be true even if they seem to be at variance from commonly known facts. You have to decide which of the given conclusions is/are definitely drawn from the given statements.
Statements :
All persons who own a house or a car should file Income Tax return.
Shiela files her income tax return.
Conclusions:
I. Shiela owns a house or a Car.
II. Shiela neither owns a house nor a Car.
Only I follows
Only II follows
Neither I nor II follows
Both I and II follow
Neither I nor II follows
Solution
It is not guarantee that the person who owns house/car/both file income tax return.
Shiela doesn't own either of these and yet files income tax return.
From the conclusion we can say that, Shiela doesn't own any at all. There be no common ground nor a situation other than these 2
So, both the conclusions doesn't follow the statement.
The correct option is (C): Neither I nor II follows
