Question
Logical Reasoning Question on Statements and Conclusions
In this question, two statements are given followed by two conclusions I and II. You have to consider both the statements to be true even if they seem to be at variance from commonly known facts. You have to decide which of the given conclusions is/are definitely drawn from the given statements.
Statements :
When it rains, usually X does not go out.
X has gone out.
Conclusions:
I. It is not raining.
II. X has some urgent business to transact.
Only I follows
Only II follows
Neither I nor II follows
Both I and II follow
Neither I nor II follows
Solution
So, according to the given statement and conclusion,
X may or may not go out if it is raining. In case of X go out there is guarantee that it is raining and also the reason for X going out is not given to us.
so, both the conclusions will not follow
The correct option is (C):Neither I nor II follows
