Solution
In the village people use cow-dung cakes as a cooking fuel which produces a lot of smoke and causes pollution. As eyes are sensitive the smoke causes irritation. The cow dung is used as a biogas which causes no smoke and is a clean fuel
Step by step answer: In the village area, people use cow dung cake as a fuel for cooking, when these cow dung cakes are burnt, they produce a lot of smoke and cause air pollution, this smoke irritates the eyes of people. This can be reduced by the use of cow dung biogas instead of cow dung cakes. The benefit of using the biogas would be that it gives high calorific value and it is easy to handle, it gives a clean fuel and doesn’t produce smoke and the residue which is left after the burning of biogas is very rich in the nutrients and is also used as a manure. The cow dung cakes which are used for cooking leaves a large amount of ash and it also destroys the plant nutrients in the environment.
Note: The dry animal dung was used from prehistoric time but is also used nowadays in some villages as it is easily available and is a cheap fuel and easy to dispose of. The main drawback is that it produces a lot of smoke and causes air pollution. The alternative to this is the biogas plant which produces both the biogas and the manure from the decomposition of the waste material or the organic matter.
