N2(g)+3H2(g)Δ, catalyst 2NH3(g)N _{2}(g)+3 H _{2}(g) \stackrel{\Delta, \text { catalyst }}{\longrightarrow} 2 NH _{3}(g)

(i) When Mo is used as catalyst, it increase the rate of formation of NH3NH _{3} because it behaves as promoter.

(ii) But, when CO is used as catalyst it decreases the formation of NH3NH _{3} because it behaves as poisoning agent.
