While we are eating food, accidently we get turmeric stains on your clothes. To remove this stain we use soap, soap contains base, whereas turmeric neutralization reaction takes place. And the stain becomes red in colour . Turmeric is an active ingredient containing curcumin which acts as an acid.
There are various kinds of method one to remove the turmeric stain as follows.
Baking Soda: - To remove the turmeric stain use the baking soda paste. Apply the baking soda paste on the stain. Let it for 15 minute then rub. The stain will be removed with this method.
Vinegar: - Vinegar is another way to remove the turmeric stain of the stain left after the soap, then apply vinegar to remove it.
Lemon Juice: - Lemon juice and Vinegar both contain the acidic acid. Apply some lemon juice on the turmeric stain area. Set it for 15-20 minute. Then rub & wash with water and dry in the sunlight. Stain will become light.
Detergent: - We can use tangent to remove the turmeric stain. Dip the cloth in the detergent sol. Let it for some time rub it and wash it with water.

Turmeric contains active ingredient curcumin acid. When the turmeric reacts with soap the enol forms i.e. red in colour.
