If the equations x2+2x+3=0x^2+2x+3=0 and ax2+bx+c=0,a,b,cRax^2+bx+c=0, a, b, c \in R have a common root, then a:b:ca : b : c is

A

1:02:03

B

3:02:01

C

1:03:02

D

3:01:02

Answer

1:02:03

Explanation

Solution

Given equations are x2+2x+3=0...(i)x^2+2x+3=0 ...(i)
and ax2+bx+c=0...(ii) ax^2+bx+c=0 ...(ii)
Since, E (i) has imaginary roots, so E (ii) will also
have both roots same as E (i).
Thus,a1=b2=c3 \frac{a}{1}=\frac{b}{2}=\frac{c}{3}
Hence, a : b : c is 1 : 2 : 3.
