Question

Physics Question on Moving charges and magnetism

If in a circular coil AA of radius R,R, current ii is flowing and in another coil BB of radius 2R2 R a current 2i2 i is flowing, then the ratio of the magnetic fields, BAB_{A} and BBB_{B} produced by them will be :

A

1

B

2

C

1/21 / 2

D

4

Answer

1

Explanation

Solution

Magnetic field in circular coil AA is BA=μ0Ni2RB_{A}=\frac{\mu_{0} N i}{2 R} where RR is radius and ii is current flowing in coil. Similarly BB=μ0N(2i)2(2R)B_{B}=\frac{\mu_{0} N(2 i)}{2 \cdot(2 R)} =μ0Ni2R=\frac{\mu_{0} N i}{2 R} BABB=11=1\therefore \frac{B_{A}}{B_{B}}=\frac{1}{1}=1
