Hypersecretion of mineralocorticoids leads to
A
Conn's syndrome
B
Simmond's disease
C
Cushing's disease
D
Addison's disease
Answer
Conn's syndrome
Explanation
Solution
Conn's syndrome is condition of primary aldosteronism, which is caused due to an excessive secretion of mineralocorticoids (aldosterone) from adrenal cortex, independent of rennin/ angiotensin secretion. Addison's disease is chronic adrenal cortex insufficiency, which is due to hyposecretion of all adrenal cortex hormones.
Simmond's disease is tumour or infection in anterior pituitary.
Cushing's syndrome is a condition of hyper cortisolism.
