Question
Question: How does calculus different from algebra?...
How does calculus different from algebra?
Solution
Calculus and algebra are both the most important branches of mathematics which are very different from each other. Algebra deals with the equations containing unknown variables and finds them. Where as Calculus deals with the rate of functions or we can say rate of change of any function.
Complete step-by-step solution:
Mathematics is a basic piece of our regular daily existences. Consistently we are confronted with numbers, from the second we awaken and consider the number of individuals to cook for, how much cash to spend on important things and what amount of time it would require to arrive at the workplace.
This is the reason we are shown mathematics in school, to make life simpler for us and to assist us with getting numbers. There are numerous parts of mathematics, two of which are Algebra and Calculus.
To understand what is the difference between algebra and calculus, we will define some parameters:
1.Basic Definition:
In Algebra we find the values of some unknown variables by solving the equations. On the other hand, In calculus we find the rate of change of any function.
2.How old are they
Algebra is actually the oldest branch of mathematics. It was originated in ancient time and Calculus was originated during the 17th century
3.Algebra deals with the terms and the mathematical operations and also with the equations and polynomials. It used many letters in place of numbers to represent them which are then combined according to the rules of mathematics.
Calculus mainly focuses on limits, derivatives, functions, infinite series and integrals and used in the field of computer science, engineering, economics etc.
Main branches of calculus are integration and differential.
Note:
1.Before calculus, we are only able to find out the values of the variables but with the invention of modern calculus , it was possible to find the rates of any function.
2.Algebra has some domain to work on but calculus does not .
