Invasive alien species have a negative impact on ecosystems due to several factors. Firstly, invasive species are those organisms which cause damage or harm to the environment by economic or ecological means. The species which are not native to the ecosystem are called invasive species.
Invasive species can be harmful to both natural resources and human life. When an invasive species is introduced into a new area by any mode like- accidental releases from aquaculture, ocean moving ships, ballast water or any kind of fishing bait or aquarium species.
Their motive is to feed and capture and grow their own population over the other species and causing extinctions to the native plants and animals living in habitat. They cannot possess co-existing and always try to capture resources and in result cause havoc among the ecosystem.
Invasives not only impact the ecology but also the social and economic areas. It can be done by directly or indirectly values like- agricultural productivity, public utility platforms where species can be served unknowingly as food and causes health issues, also in fisheries and animal farming.
