Given, sec(1200).
We know that reciprocal of cosine is secant. That is
sec(1200)=cos(1200)1
Now we find the value of cos(1200).
We can write 120 as a sum of 90 and 30.
That is 1200=900+300.
cos(1200)=cos(900+300)
⇒cos(1200)=cos(900+300)
But we know that cos(900+θ)=−sinθ. The negative sign is because the cosine lies in the third quadrant and in the third quadrant cosine is negative.
cos(1200)=−sin(300)
⇒cos(1200)=−21.

cos(1200)=−21.
Now we have sec(1200)=cos(1200)1
sec(1200)=(−21)1
