The nucleus contains the protons and the neutrons. The negatively charged electrons are surrounding the nucleus of the atom in a circular orbit.
There are a total 118 elements discovered yet and they are placed in the periodic table. Thus, the periodic table is defined as the representation of chemical elements in order of their chemical properties. The number of elements is represented by their number of protons. In the periodic table seven rows of table are present known as periods and the columns are known as the group.
The elements in the periodic table are represented in the form of symbols where above the symbol atomic number is written and below the symbol atomic mass is written. The atomic number of the element represents the number of electrons. Number of protons and the number of electrons are the same.
