Let’s discuss the concentration of a solution. It is defined as the number of solutes present in litres of solution. Here, we have to decrease the concentration of water in a solution. This can be achieved by three ways,
1)Addition of solutes: Increasing the number of solutes to the solution results in an increase of concentration of solution that means, the concentration of water decreases in the solution.

2)Evaporation: The solution when heated, evaporates the water. In this way, the concentration of water decreases in the solution. For example, salt is prepared from the sea water, by the process of evaporation.

3)Dialysis: Dialysis can also be used to decrease concentration of water in a solution. We have to put the solution into a dialysis bag. The dialysis bag is made of semipermeable membrane. Then the solution containing dialysis bag should be placed in a solution having high concentration of salt. In that case, water leaves the bag through the semipermeable membrane and the concentration of water in the solution decreases.

Note: It is to be noted that to increase the concentration of a solution we have to change the amount of solute or solvent in the solution. Increasing solute in a solution increases the concentration and increasing the solvent in a solution decreases the concentration of the solution.
