Question: How are organic molecules related to all living organisms?...

How are organic molecules related to all living organisms?

Explanation

Solution

Biomolecule means biological molecules which can be also termed as organic molecules. These are the organic molecules that are synthesised by the living organism. They are mainly composed of carbon, nitrogen, hydrogen, oxygen, phosphorus and sulphur.

Complete answer:
Biomolecules are defined as the organic compounds that occur in our body which are required for carrying out metabolic processes in a living being. The biomolecules can be categories into four types which are used by all living organisms:
Proteins- Proteins are termed as the polymers whose basic unit is amino acid. There are 20 amino acids that occur in our body. These proteins play a very necessary role in structural, functioning and regulation of tissues and organs in our body. Example of proteins includes- All the hormones and enzymes are proteins.

Carbohydrates-Carbohydrates are termed as the biomolecules which includes carbon, nitrogen and oxygen. They are the energy providing molecules. Examples of carbohydrates include - glucose.

Lipids-Lipids are composed up of hydrocarbon. They function in providing the structure of the body. Membranes of the cell are composed up of lipids. Examples of lipids include: Waxes, Vitamins like (A, D, E, K).

Nucleic acid. They are termed as the large biomolecules that are needed to all living forms.
The genetic material RNA, DNA is composed of nucleic acid.

Application of Biomolecules-
10Carbohydrates are the energy producing molecules. For example glucose is termed as an immediate source of energy. The food that remains present in the plant is in the form of starch that is also a carbohydrate.
2)Proteins- All the hormones and enzymes are composed of proteins. They play a necessary role in body building.
3)Lipids- Lipids are the kind of fats. The food remains present in the form of lipids or fat in adipose tissues.
4)Nucleic acid- All the DNA and RNA is composed of nucleic acid. They play a very major role in protein synthesis.

Note: Bio molecules play a very necessary role in structural and functional development of our body. The foods we take are the source of carbohydrates, proteins, and fat. The carbohydrates are the most occuring molecules present in our body.
